About

Fergus Sturrock was born in 1964 and has lived and worked in Buckinghamshire all his life. His passion for photography and painting stemmed from his father who himself was an accomplished artist.

Having spent many years at the forefront of the IT industry, the advent of digital photography provided the unique opportunity of merging his professional expertise with his love of the arts.

"Pictures must stir emotions within the viewer, they must evoke memories, stir passion or act in bringing a sense of calm. It need not be the case that this happens in a "jaw dropping" moment of awe, the subject and viewer should take time to develop their relationship and to slowly form an understanding."

Fergus recognises that all art is highly subjective and hence does not restrict himself to a single genre. He is as comfortable studying a wilderness as he is exploring the subtleties of abstract shape and colour. As such his wish is that everyone will find something to their liking and with hope, delight.
